Aloe Vera

The succulent leaves of the Aloe Vera plant have been used across centuries and civilisations in a medicinal manner. This is due to the over 100 exceptionally powerful compounds Aloe holds in its gel-like centre, including vitamins, minerals, salicylic acids and plant enzymes. Combined, these create an astounding array of skin benefits. 

By stimulating collagen, hyaluronic acid and enzyme production, Aloe firms the skin reducing fine lines & wrinkles. A deeply moisturising plant that targets acne causing bacteria, balances the skin and assists in the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

Australian Native Sandalwood 

Australian Sandalwood has been used for centuries amongst Australian Indigenous people thanks to its myriad of health benefits when used both topically and internally.

An exceptional ally in the fight for skin health, this essential oil brings astringent, antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.  The soothing extract targets acne, sunburn and inflammatory skin conditions and is packed with antioxidants to protect skin from environmental damage. 

The extract deeply absorbs into the dermal layers helping to improve blood circulation, hydration and elasticity. Australian Sandalwood also offers a powerful scent to calm both mind and body simultaneously.

Broccoli Seed Oil 

With a unique blend of essential fatty acids including oleic acid and linoleic acid, Broccoli Seed oil provides exceptional hydration and forms a protective skin barrier to seal moisture and repel environmental pollution.

Quick to absorb, Broccoli Seed oil releases vitamins A (a natural retinol), C & K deep into the dermal layers, revealing calmed, youthful and revitalised skin.

Bakuchiol

Found in the leaves and seeds of the Psoralea Corylifolia plant, Bakuchiol use has its roots within Traditional Chinese Medicine having been utilised for centuries due to multiple benefits. It is a highly potent antioxidant, helping protect skin from environmental damage and fight signs of ageing. 

Acknowledged as a retinol alternative for those with sensitive skin, Bakuchiol deeply penetrates the dermal layers to encourage collagen production, increase cell turnover and fight age spots caused by hyper pigmentation. Unlike typical retinol products, Bakuchiol doesn’t cause dryness or irritation but actually helps soothe inflammation as it works to improve skin health. 

Cacay Nut Oil 

Cacay Oil has garnered much acclaim in recent years as one of the most potent natural anti-aging oils on the market. Containing 1.5 times the amount of vitamin E as Argan and Rosehip oils, Cacay provides radical moisturisation. On top of this, Cacay also boasts 3 times the amount of vitamin A - a natural retinol - and double the amount of linoleic acid as Rosehip. 

The former of these helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles whilst plumping and reinvigorating skin. The latter, linoleic acid, assists in absorption, allowing the oil to seal moisture deep within the dermal layers. Further benefits include scar and pigmentation reduction, lesser acne formation and increased skin elasticity.

CBD Isolate

Having gained much notoriety in recent years for its potent anti-inflammatory action, CBD isolate is rightly being maximised for use in both internal and external health care. Also known as cannabidiol, CBD is the non-psychoactive component of marijuana or hemp plants and is harvested from the flowers, leaves and stems. 

When applied topically to the skin CBD is a natural oil balancer, so combined with its anti-inflammatory action it is an exceptional treatment for acne. Also loaded with antioxidants, CBD helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, fights free radical damage and alleviates skin dullness. CBD is suitable for use on sensitive and irritated skin due to its naturally calming composition.

Cordyceps Sinensis

Growing mainly in the Himalayas of China, Nepal and Tibet, the super fungus Cordyceps Sinensis has been utilised in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for hundreds of years due to its potent repertoire of healing functions.

The high level of antioxidants helps tackle DNA damage from UVB rays and environmental pollution making it a key player in our anti-aging products as both shield and treatment. Also offering a strong anti-inflammatory effect, Cordyceps calms irritated skin and eases the appearance of acne.

Emu Apple Extract

Native to Australia, the berries of the Emu Apple contain potent phytoactive compounds which present a myriad of benefits for skin health.

Amino acids, gallic acids and further natural acids simultaneously help increase skin barrier function, fight aging, exfoliate, moisturise and help combat acne. Catechin, phenolics and anthocyanins protect from environmental damage, promote wound healing and ease irritated skin conditions.

The naturally occurring wax creates a barrier against moisture loss, preserving and protecting the skin all day long. Also containing 3 times the antioxidants of blueberries and high levels of vitamin C, this powerful extract will gently brighten all skin types. 

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp Seed oil is extracted from nutritionally dense seeds of the hemp plant and comes loaded with its very own skin benefits. High levels of antioxidants such as vitamins A, C, E & F plus powerful fatty acids make Hemp Seed oil a valued asset in the fight against free radicals and skin degeneration.

By supporting the skin barrier, it both seals in moisture and protects from environmental damage such as sunlight, air pollution and temperature change, whilst deeply nourishing and hydrating the dermal layers.

Hemp Seed Oil eases inflammation and soothes irritation, making it a key ingredient in anti-acne products and is suitable for use on sensitive skin.

Hyadisine

A marine biotechnology alternative to much lauded Hyaluronic Acid (HA), Hyadisine provides a notably higher level of moisturisation than HA. This is due to the exopolysaccharide’s superior water-retaining capacity which offsets the decline of naturally occurring HA in the skin, resulting in greater anti-wrinkle efficacy.

By protecting keratinocytes from cold stress, Hyadisine creates a strong natural barrier against environmental damage. Hyadisine also has a 99.5% natural origin content.

Ginkgo Biloba 

One of the oldest living trees on Earth, Ginkgo Biloba is a unique species originating in China. Its phytoactive compounds contain powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which help protect and regenerate skin. It has a naturally gentle, antibacterial action which makes it ideal for those with acne and other skin concerns such as rosacea and eczema.

Ginkgo Biloba's compounds amine, coumarin, quercetin and phenolic acids lend further anti-aging, anti-fatigue and anti-oxidative qualities.

Jojoba Oil 

Native to Arizona and Southern California, the shrubby Jojoba plant provides the power packed seed used to create this exceptional oil. It offers deep, long lasting hydration, easing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The natural antimicrobial action paired with anti-inflammatory effect helps fight acne and promote wound healing, soothing chapped and aggravated skin. With the addition of vitamins B & E, plus antioxidants and minerals, Jojoba oil both nourishes and protects the skin and helps maintain a youthful, healthy glow. 

Kaolin Clay 

One of nature’s most powerful natural cleansers, Kaolin clay absorbs impurities and gently sloughs away dead skin cells without removing any natural moisture.

It has naturally soothing properties making it an ideal gentle exfoliator, suitable for use on inflamed and irritated skin. 

Kangaroo Apple

Native to the Northern river regions of Australia and often used as a poultice for injuries, the extracts from this fruit have been extensively researched and identified as beneficial for inflammation, blemishes and reactive skin conditions. By further assisting in scar and age spot reduction, Kangaroo Apple is a valuable ally in the quest for skin health.

Kukui Nut Oil 

Hailing from Hawaii, the oil of the Kukui Nut has been used natively for centuries thanks to its myriad skin benefits. Containing vitamins A, C, E & F and being quick to absorb, Kukui Oil provides exceptional skin nourishment, helping to ease inflammatory skin conditions and retain the moisture needed to calm irritation.

Rich in antioxidants, Kukui oil boosts collagen production resulting in noticeable wrinkle and stretch mark reduction whilst fatty acids penetrate deeply to soothe and smooth skin.

Liquorice Root Extract

Glycyrrhizin containing licorice root brings a wealth of anti-inflammatory properties to the table, reducing itching, redness and inflammation caused by reactive skin conditions and environmental changes.

Also being an antioxidant, this powerful compound helps to naturally protect against sun damage. Another compound, glabridin, helps fight skin pigmentation, whilst licochalcone A controls oil production and supports the skin’s own creation of further antioxidants.

Mountain Pepper Berry

A perennial shrub native to the woodlands and temperate forests of Tasmania, Mountain Pepper Berry (MPB) has been used in traditional indigenous medicine for centuries thanks to its potent range of polyphenols and photoactive compounds. Key phyto-nutrient Quercetin offers clinically proven anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity.

Chlorogenic acid stimulates the production of collagen and promotes wound healing whilst offering antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action. Further compounds polygodial and rutin offer anti-microbial, anti-fungal and moisture retaining benefits.

Olea Europaea Fruit Oil 

More commonly known as Olive Oil, this Mediterranean wonder is lauded as a healthy dietary ingredient, but did you know about its incredible skin benefits? The large amount of antioxidants, vitamins and fatty acids decadently nourish the dermal layers, moisturising even the driest skin.

Its high levels of linoleic and oleic acids work to support the skin’s natural barrier, resulting in a visible improvement in skin health.

Reishi

Another powerful fungi in our MOAK ingredient list, Reishi has been utilised for thousands of years and is well known as ‘the mushroom of immortality’.

There is no wonder why since Reishi comes fully loaded with benefits; adaptogenic, antioxidant, anti-aging and skin tone balancing. The first of these qualities, ‘adaptogenic’, is key. Adaptogens work on a cellular level to assist your body’s natural stress responses, making Reishi one of the most advanced anti-aging treatments around.

The beta-glucans Reishi contains help attract water to the skin, assisting in deep hydration. Also contains amino acids which assist in cellular repair and support the skin’s own production of antimicrobial peptides.

Rosehip Oil 

Derived from the small fruit that sits beneath the rose, this nutritionally dense, pressed seed oil offers countless skin benefits. Its high levels of fatty acids, particular omegas 3 & 6, both soften the skin and reinforce the protective barrier. Suitable for use on acne prone skin, the omega 6 (linoleic acid) can reduce the size and appearance of blemishes, calm irritation and reduce scarring.

Naturally occurring retinol (vitamin A), plus vitamins B1, B2, B3 & K, regenerate the skin, whilst vitamin C brightens the complexion. Also working to stimulate collagen production and increase elasticity, Rosehip oil can considerably reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making it a perfect ingredient to support skin aging. 

Saffron Extract

The rare Crocus Sativus flower, grown mostly in Iran, is well known as the world’s most expensive spice lending its delicate inner stems to decadent recipes.

But did you know that Saffron also contains a myriad of skin, hair and medicinal benefits? A skin benefit of note is Saffron’s anti-acne action which is due to its strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.

Sacha Inchi Oil 

The powerful botanical seed of the Peruvian Sacha Inchi plant grows on vines native to the Peruvian Amazon and has been used for centuries as a skincare ingredient.

Its seed oil nourishes deep within the dermal layers to support cell membrane integrity, encourage cell regeneration and increase elasticity.
